Volunteering
There are many ways that you can help the Foundation in its preservation of open space. The first is to become a member. Our membership is our main source of revenue for the Foundation. However, there are other ways to help as a volunteer as well. Here are some examples:
McKaig Nature Education Center
Spreading wood chips on the trails--a semiannual event
Assisting with erosion control projects
Serving as a guide to young and old
Developing seasonal programs
Eradicating invasive plants
Assisting with new plantings
Old Roberts Schoolhouse
Developing seasonal programs
Eradicating invasive plants
Cleaing the Schoolhouse periodically
Painting the interior and exterior of building
Replacing and glazing windows
Serving as a guide during open houses
Performing minor repairs
Assist the Foundation's administrative tasks and clerical functions
Assist with the creation of the Foundation's history and legacy
Helping with the annual membership drive
Assist in obtaining government grants
Help plan for special events and the annual dinner meeting
